Bright Star

Slow pacing hinders this beautifully photographed, somber, factually based, Jane Campion film in which fashion-loving, teenage seamstress Fanny Brawne (Abbie Cornish), who lives with her mother (Kerry Fox) and two siblings (Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Edie Martin) in Hempstead Village near London, falls in love in 1918 with brooding, romantic English 19th century poet John Keats (Ben Winshaw), who lived with his doting, sarcastic best friend (Paul Schneider) and unfortunately died in Italy at age 25 in 1821.
