Bandslam When a bullied, music-crazy Cincinnati high school student (Gaelan Connell) moves with his divorced mother (Lisa Kudrow) to New Jersey to begin a new life in this warmhearted, down-to-earth, coming-of-age film, he s finds himself attracted to a shy, talented student (Vanessa Hudgens) and surprisingly befriended by a popular singer/songwriter (Alyson Michalka) who persuades him to manage a group of musicians (Charlie Saxton, Tim Jo, J.W. Wright, Ryan Donowho, Elvy Yost, and Lisa Chung) to help her band win the annual battle of the bands contest competing against her former boyfriend (Ben Wheatley).
