While a weed-smoking, grieving psychiatrist (Kevin Spacey) in Hollywood tries to deal with his own emotional demons after his wife's suicide and to help his troubled patients, including an alcoholic movie star (Robin Williams) contemplating cheating, an over-the-hill actress (Saffron Burrows) with an adulterous husband (Joel Gretsch), a movie-loving African-American high school student (Keke Palmer), and a wannabe scriptwriter (Mark Webber) parking cars and mowing lawns, in this lackluster, unimaginative, contrived, cameo-dotted (Robert Loggia and Gore Vidal) film, a perky pregnant assistant (Pell James) deals with her OCD-afflicted, obnoxious talent agent boss (Dallas Roberts) and a greenhorn actor (Jack Huston) tries to cope with suicidal thoughts.
