Towelhead

When a divorced mother (Mario Bello) sends her beautiful, outspoken 13-year-old Arab-American daughter (Summer Bishit) to Houston to live with her strict, racist Lebanese father (Peter Macdissi), who is dating a shapely NASA colleague (Lynn Collins), after her abusive boyfriend (Chris Messina) made sexual advances in this powerful, unnerving, enthralling, superbly acted film based on Alicia Erian's novel, the curious, lonely, horny teenager plays with fire when a leering, married Army reservist (Aaron Eckhart) next door finds her attractive to the concern of her other married neighbors (Toni Collette and Matt Letscher) and she begins to explore her sexuality with an equally inquisitive African-American student (Eugene Jones III).
