Tropic Thunder After a novice director (Steve Coogan) finds himself in hot water with the movie's egotistical, maniacal, hairy producer (Tom Cruise) and over budget, behind schedule, and inadvertently blown up while shooting a war film in Viet Nam in this original, cheesy, funny, satirical, cameo-peppered spoof, four inept actors (Robert Downey, Jr., Jack Black, Brandon T. Jackson, and Jay Baruchel) playing soldiers find themselves lost in the jungle and fighting heroin traffickers who have imprisoned a fellow thespian (Ben Stiller), a special effects technician (Danny R. McBride), and the film's duplicitous writer (Nick Nolte).
