Stone Angel, The When dementia and cancer begin to rob a proud, headstrong woman (Ellen Burstyn) of her independence and she realizes that her son (Dylan Baker) and his wife (Shelia McCarthy) plan on admitting her to a nursing home in this well-acted, exceptionally photographed, and heart-tugging film, she begins to reminisce about her turbulent and difficult life as a young girl and rebellious teenager (Christine Horne) growing up in Canada, her stubborn father (Peter MacNeill) who disowned her after she married a handsome Indian (Cole Hauser), the collapse of her marriage due to alcoholism and pride, and the tragedy that claimed her rebellious son (Kevin Zegers) and his girlfriend (Ellen Page).
