Hawk Is Dying, The

A strange, dark, and depressing film in which an eccentric, middle-aged Florida auto upholsterer (Paul Giamatti) and neophyte falconer, who lives with his overweight divorced sister (Rusty Schwimmer) and mentally challenged nephew (Michael Pitt), finds solace in a red tail hawk and an increasingly unhealthy attachment to the wild bird when his teenage nephew accidentally drowns in his waterbed after spending an evening with a quirky neighbor (Michelle Williams) the night before.
