Blindsight An awe-inspiring, uplifting, motivating, moving 2006 documentary dotted with magnificent Himalayan scenery that follows pioneering blind mountaineer Erik Weihenmayer, who lost his sight at age 15 and was the first blind mountain climber to reach the summit of Everest in May 2001, and his crew as they form lifelong friendships, improve self-esteem, and build self-confidence in their team members when they lead blind Braille Without Borders cofounder Sabriye Tenberken and six blind and daring teenage students (Dachung, Tenzin, Sonam Bhumtso, Tashi, Gyenshen, and Kyila) from the School for the Blind in Lhasa, Tibet, in their brave and courageous attempt to reach the 23,000-foot summit of Lhakpa-Ri in 2004.
