Still Life While the backdrop gives a snapshot look into the process of tearing down ancient buildings to prepare for the flooding of the Yangtze River due to the Three Gorges Dam project and displacing millions of people, striking photography dominates this slow-moving, downbeat docudrama, which is a companion piece to the documentary Dong, that follows a middle-aged Chinese coalminer (Han Sanming) from Fengjie as he searches for his wife and daughter he has not seen in 16 years and a nurse (Zhao Tao) who searches for her estranged husband to tell him she wants a divorce.
