Leatherheads While a charismatic, long-in-the-tooth Duluth football player (George Clooney) hatches a scheme to revive his disbanded Bulldog football team in 1925 by recruiting a talented, all-American war hero (John Krasinski) in this entertaining, nostalgic, well-paced, factually inspired, witty romantic comedy, a wisecracking, savvy Chicago reporter (Renée Zellweger) creates friction between the two players and a publicity nightmare for the new recruit's money-hungry, oily manager (Jonathan Pryce) when she prints a bombshell story.
