Under the Same Moon When his grandmother (Angelina Peláez) dies suddenly in this touching, heartfelt, predictable film, a strong-willed, 9-year-old Mexican boy (Adrian Alonso) impulsively crosses the border into the U.S. with a foolish, risk-taking American couple (America Ferrera and Jesse Garcia) to find his mother (Kate del Castillo) who is working illegally as a housekeeper in Los Angeles and is befriended by a series of unlikely people, including an initially disgruntled migrant worker (Eugenio Derbez) with a kind heart.
