California Dreamin' (Endless) While an increasingly frustrated and perturbed American Army captain (Armand Assante) fights bureaucratic red tape and tries to diplomatically negotiate with a clueless, opportunistic Romanian mayor (Ion Sapdoru) in 1999 after a disgruntled, corrupt, widowed railroad station master (Razvan Vasilescu) erroneously stops an American NATO train carrying military equipment vital to the war effort in Serbia due to allegedly missing transportation documents in Cristian Nemescu's poignant, compelling, factually inspired film, the station master's precocious teenage daughter (Maria Dinulescu) hooks up with an American Marine (Jamie Elman) with the help of an English-speaking, jealous classmate (Alex Margineanu) and the hopes of escaping her backwater village.
