Milarepa: Magician, Murderer, Saint Majestic Himalayan scenery dominates this first poignant, beautifully photographed film in the trilogy about legendary Tibetan mystic Milarepa (Jamyang Lodro) in the 11th century who seeks inner peace after leaving the woman (Tashi Choedon Gyari) he loves to learn powerful sorcery and using it to take revenge against greedy relatives (Lhakpa Tsamchoe and Gonpo) who stole his inheritance and made life miserable for his bitter, tormented, widowed mother (Kelsang Chukie Tethong) and his sister (Tashi Lhamo) after the death of his father.
