Jealousy runs rampant in this slow-moving, slow-building, predictable, 106-minute, 2007 psychological thriller in which a highly intelligent, psychopathic, and sinister 9-year-old boy (Jacob Kogan) in Manhattan calculatingly and horrifyingly retaliates against his unsuspecting parents (Sam Rockwell and Vera Farmiga) and religiously devout grandmother (Celia Weston) when he erroneously concludes that they love him less after they seemingly pay more attention to his newborn sister.
