Bamako (aka The Court)

While Mali witnesses (Hamadoun Kassogué, Maimouna Hélène Diarra, et al.) testify at a mock trial set in an outdoor courtyard that puts the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund on trial for overwhelmingly and directly contributing to the economic injustice and seemingly irreversible, dire national debt of Africa in this thought-provoking, esoteric, hard-hitting, politically complex film, daily life goes on around the court proceedings, including the unraveling of the marriage of a bar singer (Aïssa Maïga) and her unemployed husband (Tiécoura Traoré), and cowboys (Danny Glover, Eli Suleiman, Zeke Laplaine, Jean-Henri Roger, Abderrahmane Sissako, et al.) play shoot'em up in the mock Western Death in Timbuktu.
