Journey from the Fall

While a South Vietnamese counterrevolutionary (Long Nguyen) tries desperately to survive the back-breaking labor, the solitary confinement, and the continual torture during his imprisonment in a brutal and inhumane Communist re-education camp in North Vietnam in 1981 after the fall of Saigon in this eye-opening, gut-wrenching, heartbreaking, and emotionally-draining film, his devoted wife (Diem Lien), hopeful mother (Kieu Chinh), and young son (Nguyen Thai Nguyen) survive a harrowing ocean journey and begin a new life as refugees in California with the help of a kindly boat captain ( Khanh Doan).
