TV Set, The

A hilarious, tongue-in-cheek, biting, satirical comedy about the hellish experiences of a hardworking, idealistic Hollywood scriptwriter (David Duchovny) who reluctantly ends up selling out and compromising his beliefs as he pitches his new television show to pompous, shallow, arrogant, backstabbing network executives (Sigourney Weaver and Ioan Gruffudd); auditions and hires giddy actors (Frank Kranz and Linsday Sloane) for the two leads; and begins the long, grueling, harried days shooting the pilot while coping with an overly optimistic manager (Judy Greer) and the demands of his very pregnant wife (Justine Bateman).
