Journals of Knud Rasmussen, The

A deliberately paced, insightful, and fascinating film based on the journals of Danish ethnographer Knud Rasmussen (Jens Jørn Spottag) who traveled to arctic Canada in 1922 to document the cultural traditions, tribal customs, ancient beliefs, and ways of life for Iglulik shaman Avva (Pakak Innuksuk), his wife Orulu (Neeve Irngaut), and spiritually gifted, strong-willed daughter Apak (Leah Angutimarik) especially after they became estranged from fellow Intuits who converted to Christianity.
