Wind That Shakes the Barley, The A brogue-heavy, powerful, heartbreaking Palme d'O award-winning film in which a passionate and idealistic Irish doctor (Cillian Murphy) joins his brother (Padraic Delaney) and neighbors (John Crean, Liam Cunningham, Gerard Kearney, William Ruane, et al.) as volunteers in the guerilla army in 1920s Ireland to fight for independence from England in a war that pits the Irish against the British "Black and Tan" squads, the Irish against the Irish, and ultimately, brother against brother.
