Reaping, The While a priest (Stephen Rea) is terrorized by demonic visions in this initially suspenseful, but ultimately hokey religious thriller about the ten Biblical plagues, a former Christian missionary (Hilary Swank) who is a university professor specializing in debunking religious phenomena and alleged miracles goes to a small Louisiana town with her associate (Idris Elba) at the request of a science teacher (Doug Morrissey) to investigate a river that has turned to blood and the involvement of a mysterious 12-year-old girl (AnnaSophia Robb) in the strange happenings.
