Avenue Montaigne (aka Orchestra Seats)

Danièle Thompson's lighthearted French comedy in which an orphaned waitress (Cécile De France) leaves her adoring grandmother (Suzanne Flon) to work for a gruff manager (François Rollin) at a modest cafe in Paris where she meets an eclectic group of people, including an unhappy concert pianist (Albert Dupontel) and his wife (Laura Morante), a popular television soap and stage actress (Valérie Lemercier), an American director (Sydney Pollack) auditioning actors for his latest movie, a Sorbonne professor (Christopher Thompson) with back problems, and an aging collector (Claude Brasseur) auctioning off his extensive art collection.
