Days of Glory An Oscar-nominated, gut-wrenching, factually inspired film about a small group of brave Algerian soldiers, including a savvy corporal (Sami Bouajila), an illiterate Arab (Jamel Debbouze), a protective Muslim (Samy Naceri) fighting alongside his younger brother (Assaad Bouab), and a North African (Roschdy Zem) who falls for a French woman (Aurélie Eltvedt) in Marseilles, who volunteered to fight for their motherland to liberate France from the Nazis during World War II and sadly faced daily inequality from their French peers and discrimination and humiliation from their own military officers (Bernard Blancan, Antoine Chappey, Mathieu Simonet, Benoît Giros, et al.) despite ultimately successfully defending an Alsace village against the Germans in 1944.
