Stomp the Yard While frenetic synchronized step dancing sequences and impressive choreography take center stage in this seen-it-before, thin-plot film about longtime rival fraternity members (Darrin Dewitt Henson, Brian J. White, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Jermaine Williams, Laz Alonso, et al.) who compete in a popular annual dance competition in Atlanta and for a talented new student (Columbus Short) who has moved to Georgia to live with his relatives (Harry J. Lennix and Valarie Pettiford) after the senseless murder of his brother during a street brawl in Los Angeles, the troubled streetwise dancer tries to forget, to fit in, and to vie for the attention of a comely coed (Meagan Good); primarily for step dancing fans.
