Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

After a disturbed, creepy leather tanner (Ben Whishaw) with an extraordinarily acute sense of smell accidentally kills a striking, sweet-smelling redheaded fruit vendor and tenaciously devours all that he can about the art of perfume making from an aging Parisian perfumer (Dustin Hoffman) in the mid-1700s in this dark, richly textured, intriguing film that has gorgeous cinematography and memorable sets, the orphaned sociopath becomes obsessed with capturing the intoxicating scent and allure of beautiful women through highly unorthodox methods, which triggers fear among the village beauties and for one worried father (Alan Rickman) to take extreme measures to protect his winsome daughter (Rachel Hurd-Wood).
