Curse of the Golden Flower

Breathtakingly dazzling sets, opulent costumes, and a sea of golden flowers highlight this gorgeously photographed Chinese epic about a long-hidden secret that permeates the pampered, loveless life of a beautiful and melancholic Tang dynasty empress (Gong Li) in 928 A.D., and when she learns from the wife (Chen Jin) of the palace doctor (Dahong Ni) that her powerful, heartless, and ruthless husband (Chow Yun Fat) is slowly poisoning her with a deadly black fungus, she plots to overthrow him on the eve of the chrysanthemum festival and jeopardizes the lives of her three sons (Jay Chou, Liu Ye, and Junjie Qin).
