Good German, The A murky, somber, black-and-white, political film noir in which an idealistic American war correspondent (George Clooney) returns to Berlin in July 1945 to cover the Potsdam Peace Conference and discovers that his sneaky and opportunistic motorpool driver (Tobey Maguire) is involved in the black market and is sleeping with his former girlfriend (Cate Blanchett) whose scientist husband (Christian Oliver) is in hiding and wanted by everyone, including an American colonel (Beau Bridges) and a Russian general (Ravil Isyanov).
