We Are Marshall After a horrific chartered jet crash in the Appalachian Mountains during a snow storm on Nov. 14, 1970, kills 75 passengers, including coaches, football players, and fans, and devastates citizens (Ian McShane, Kate Mara, et al.) and the few remaining Thundering Herd football players (Arlen Escarpeta, et al.) in Huntington, W. Va., in this emotional, engrossing, and factually based story, the skeptical president (David Strathairn) of Marshall University hires an unorthodox coach (Matthew McConaughey) who moves from Ohio with his wife (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) and kids and resurrects the athletic program with the help of a guilt-ridden, grieving assistant coach (Matthew Fox) and a dedicated varsity player (Anthony Mackie).
