Stranger Than Fiction

While a chain-smoking author (Emma Thompson) with writer's block seeks an ending to her book with the help of a no-nonsense publishing assistant (Queen Latifah) in this smartly written, clever, and imaginative comedy, a regimented and stuffy IRS agent (Will Ferrell) becomes concerned and frightened when he begins hearing voices describing his lonely, mundane life, which leads him to seek help from an eccentric literature professor (Dustin Hoffman) and to make advances toward a free-spirited baker (Maggie Gyllenhaal).
