White Nights

When a defected Russian ballet star (Mikhail Baryshnikov) and his manager (Geraldine Page) end up in Siberia after an airplane crash in Taylor Hackford's compelling 1985 film, an unsympathetic Russian colonel (Jerzy Skolimowski) keeps the dancer under house arrest and forces his former rejected lover (Helen Mirren) and an American tap dancer (Gregory Hines) and his wife (Isabella Rossellini) to try and persuade him to perform once again on the Moscow stage.
