Colossal Youth Excruciatingly long-held camera shots and crippling pacing mar this beautifully photographed, poetic Pedro Costa film in which a retired Portuguese laborer (Ventura) is forced to search for new apartments for himself and an impoverished drug-addict (Vanda Duarte) and a slum-dweller (Alberto Barros) he considers family after his shantytown digs outside of Lisbon are torn down and his wife (Isabel Cardoso) suddenly leaves him.
