This Film Is Not Yet Rated

A straight-shooting, eyebrow-raising documentary in which filmmaker Kirby Dick tries to understand and expose the unfair, highly secretive, and seemingly arbitrary rating practices of the controversial Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and its profound effect on the entertainment industry by interviewing various directors (such as John Waters, Kevin Smith, Kimberly Peirce, and Allison Anders), film critic David Ansen, nonfiction writers, a box office analyst, a first amendment attorney, current MPAA staff members, and former MPAA raters Jay Landers and Stephen Farber and by hiring private investigators to determine the identities of the raters and appeal board members.
