Step Up After a classically trained ballet student (Jenna Dewan) in her senior year at a Baltimore academy for the performing arts run by a stern principal (Rachel Griffiths) loses her longtime partner (Tim Lacatena) due to an ankle injury in this down-to-earth, inspirational story, a stubborn, talented, and streetwise hip-hop dancer (Channing Tatum), who must perform 200 hours of community service at the school for vandalism, goes out of his comfort zone, ignores his homeboys, and finds a potential way of out his seedy neighborhood living with his foster family by agreeing to be the student's substitute dance partner.
