Strangers with Candy After a 46-year-old, bucktoothed, ex-junkie prostitute (Amy Sedaris) is released from prison and finds her widowed dad (Dan Hedaya) remarried and comatose in this cameo-studded (Philip Seymour Hoffman, Matthew Broderick, Sir Ian Holm, and Allison Janney), inanely stupid, and painfully unfunny satire that is a prequel to the Comedy Central television series of the same name, she decides to return to high school to the bewilderment of the principal (Greg Hollimon), the school staff (Stephen Colbert, Paul Dinello, Sarah Jessica Parker, et al.), her closest peers (Carlo Alban and Alexis Dziena), and her family (Deborah Rush and Joseph Cross); strictly for fans of the original television show.
