Superman Returns A vulnerable and likable superhero, an engaging supporting cast, and spectacular special effects are the highlights of this long-awaited, $300-million-plus sequel in which the cape-wearing Man of Steel (Brandon Routh) returns to his widowed mother (Eva Marie Saint) and his coworkers (Frank Langella and Sam Huntington) at the Daily Planet, averts one catastrophe after another around the world, and tries to come to terms with his feelings for the Pulitzer-Prize-winning journalist (Kate Bosworth) who now has a son (Tristan Leabu) and a new paramour (James Marsden), while his diabolical archnemesis (Kevin Spacey) literally tries to build his empire from the ground up with the help of his girlfriend (Parker Posey) and henchmen.
