Syrian Bride, The

While an anxious Israeli woman (Clara Khoury) worries about her impending red-tape-filled nuptials to a successful Syrian actor (Derar Sliman) she has never met and leaving her parents (Makram Khoury and Marlene Bajali) in the Golan Heights to move to Damascus in this poignant and realistic film reminiscent of Rana's Wedding, her eldest brother (Eyad Sheety) tries to reconcile with his estranged father after marrying a Russian doctor (Evelyn Kaplun) 8 years earlier and her unhappy sister (Hiam Abbass) tries to break free from her controlling husband (Adnan Tarabshi) by taking time for herself and returning to school.
