Twelve and Holding

After a boy is accidentally killed in a treehouse fire by two reckless juveniles (Michael C. Fuchs and Martin Campetta) in this powerful, poignant, well-acted film reminiscent of Stand by Me, his traumatized twin brother (Conor Donovan) must cope with his grief and anger alone due to the overwhelming sadness of his parents (Linus Roache and Jayne Atkinson), while a guilt-ridden and obese student (Jesse Camacho) handles the death of his best friend by trying to deal with his eating issues and that of his food-addicted parents (Marcia DeBonis and Tom McGowan) and the blossoming daughter (Zoe Weizenbaum) of a therapist (Annabella Sciorra) tries to heal her pain by turning her affections to a friendly construction worker (Jeremy Renner).
