Proposition, The Filth, blood, and striking photography permeate this violent, gore-filled Australian Western about an English Army captain (Ray Winstone) who moves to the bullet-ridden Outback of the 1800s with his reserved wife (Emily Watson) and after capturing an illusive, legendary outlaw (Guy Pearce) and his terrified younger brother (Richard Wilson), the officer strikes a deal with the revenge-fueled Irishman to spare his life and that of his younger sibling if he turns in his legendary older brother (Danny Huston) in nine days despite being doggedly pursued by a smarmy bounty hunter (John Hurt).
