Pink Panther, The After a flashy soccer coach (Jason Statham) is murdered during a game and the famous Pink Panther diamond disappears in this silly, intentionally stupid, but enjoyable prequel to the 1964 Peter Sellers classic comedy, the egotistical chief inspector (Kevin Kline) tries to ensure that the Medal of Honor will finally be bestowed on him after the award has eluded him seven times by promoting the clueless, bumbling Jacques Clouseau (Steve Martin) to inspector to investigate the coach's murder and by assigning another detective (Jean Russo) to keep an eye on him while they interrogate suspects (Beyoncé Knowles, Henry Czerny, et al.) in the case.
