Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World

When the U.S. State Department tempts an unemployed standup comedian (Albert Brooks) with the Medal of Freedom honor in this disappointing comedy with a few sparse chuckles, the bewildered comic accepts the peculiar, challenging assignment to go to India and Pakistan with two bureau tic government representatives (John Carroll Lynch and Jon Tenney) to determine what makes Muslims laugh and then to write a 500-page report with the help of a note-taking New Delhi assistant (Sheetal Sheth).
