Producers, The

In this enjoyable, but uneven remake of the 1968 film and Tony award-winning, long-running Broadway musical, a questionable Broadway theatrical producer (Nathan Lane) in 1959 and his blankie-dependent accountant (Matthew Broderick) team up and sign a contract with a Nazi-loving playwright (Will Ferrell), hire a flamboyant gay director (Gary Beach), and cast a Swedish bombshell (Uma Thurman) to star in the tasteless, sure-flop play Springtime for Hitler when they figure that they can swindle elderly investors and make a bundle.
