Crash

This memorable, evocative film explores the consequences of racism, anger, and bigotry as it takes a fleeting glimpse into the lives of several people coping with life in Los Angeles, including a glitzy African-American woman (Thandie Newton) who is sexually molested by a bigoted cop (Matt Dillon) while his embarrassed partner (Ryan Phillippe) and her shocked husband (Terrence Howard) watch, a hardworking Latino locksmith (Michael Peña) who is berated not only by an untrusting Arab shopkeeper (Shaun Toub) but by the bigoted wife (Sandra Bullock) of a district attorney (Brendan Fraser) when he changes their home locks after two black guys (Larenz Tate and Ludacris) carjack their SUV, and a homicide detective (Don Cheadle) who deals with a drug-addicted mother and an estranged brother while investigating the murder of a gunshot victim whose body is dumped by a highway.
