This erotic film consists of three vignettes: In vignette 1, Wong Kar Wai's The Hand, a stunning Chinese prostitute (Gong Li) uses her hand and feminine wiles to manipulate a naïve tailor (Chang Chen) in 1960s Hong Kong; in vignette 2, Steven Soderbergh's Equilibrium, an advertising executive (Robert Downey, Jr.) relays his erotic dream to his psychiatrist (Alan Arkin), who is distracted with his own issues; and in vignette 3, Michelangelo Antonioni's The Dangerous Thread of Things, focuses on a ménage-a-trois between a couple (Luisa Ranieri and Christopher Buchholz) and a young woman (Regina Nemni) in Tuscany.
