Letters from Karelia

An interesting Canadian documentary that incorporates excerpts from letters and newspaper articles, archival film footage and photographs, and interviews to tell the story of an elderly Ontario woman (Taimi Pitkanen) who finally learns the fate of her brother who moved to Karelia, Russia, in 1931 when she receives letters he wrote but never mailed as a POW in a Finnish forced labor camp and meets the nephew she never knew she had when he retraces his father's journey.
