The lives of unhappy people are intertwined in this Irish film about a malicious petty thief (Colin Farrell) dodging an egotistical cop (Colm Meaney) while planning a heist with a fired bus driver (Brian F. O'Byrne) and a fired store clerk (Cillian Murphy) pining for his ex-girlfriend (Kelly Macdonald) who has taken up with a married banker (Michael McElhatton), a mustached Dubliner (Shirley Henderson) disillusioned by love, and a spurned wife (Dierdre O'Kane) seeking validation and revenge with a horny stock boy (David Wilmot).
