Hours, The

Three poignant stories about three distraught women are intertwined, one about the suicidal novelist Virginia Woolf (Nicole Kidman) residing with her protective husband (Leonard Dilane) in 1923 England; a depressed, unhappy housewife (Julianne Moore) living a lie with her oblivious husband (John C. Reilly) in 1951 California; and a lesbian editor (Meryl Streep) living with her teenage daughter (Claire Danes) and lover (Allison Janney) in modern-day New York City.
