China: The Panda Adventure Although contrived dialogue and limited panda footage detract from this factually based IMAX film narrated by Bill Hayes, exquisite scenery and cinematography frame this story about a widow, Ruth Harkness (Maria Bello), who goes to China in 1936 to follow-up her husband's work by journeying into the Ming Valley with a guide, Quentin Young (Yu Xia), to learn more about the giant panda.
